Our moves, our mission

At WeDance4Life (WD4L), we are making extraordinary moves with extraordinary people to empower families and raise awareness for epilepsy and leukemia through the arts.

WeDance4Life began as more than an organization, it started as a personal journey of love, resilience, and hope. Founder Crystal Martine faced unimaginable challenges when her 17-month-old daughter, Tayla Renee, passed away due to a seizure-like disorder stemming from a birthing injury. The loss of Tayla was a life-altering moment that ignited a deep desire to raise awareness and support for families navigating similar challenges.
In 2023, Crystal's youngest daughter, Mylee J, was diagnosed with A.L.L Leukemia.

Watching Mylee endure intense treatments, including spinal taps and chemotherapy, and facing bullying due to hair loss, Crystal was moved by her daughter's bravery and resilience. Tayla and Mylee's love for dance and her unyielding spirit became a symbol of strength for the entire family.  These profound experience inspired Crystal to create WeDance4Life, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering children and families impacted by epilepsy and leukemia through the arts. Crystal's vision is to provide a sage space where families could find hope, joy, and a supportive community.

Through programs in Performing Arts, Culinary Arts, Visual Arts, and Music, WeDance4Life offers more than creative outlets - it's a platform for healing, connection, and celebration of life. Over 100 children have participated in WeDance4Life's dance programs, and flagship events like their Annual Dance Competition, Community Support Events and Designer Bag Bingo have united thousands in the spirit of resilience and awareness.

WeDance4Life is more than an organization - it's a movement fueled by extraordinary people making extraordinary moves to uplift others.
